Taxbax Taxbax Notice TB-TRFA-2026-01

Important notice

Your tax refund claim is moving to TR Forensic Accountants

Taxbax has partnered with TR Forensic Accountants Ltd, who will take over preparing and submitting HMRC tax refund claims. If you would rather your details were not passed to them, you can stop that here.

Issued 7 August 2026
Object by 4 September 2026

If you do nothing

Your Taxbax file is passed to TR Forensic Accountants.

They will contact you directly about continuing your claim.

No claim is submitted and no fee is charged unless you sign their letter of engagement. Signing is your choice, and you can decide later.

If you object

Your details are not passed on.

Anything already sent to TR Forensic Accountants is deleted from their systems.

Your claim with Taxbax ends here. Nothing further is submitted to HMRC on your behalf, and you are free to claim yourself or through another firm.

What is changing

TR Forensic Accountants Ltd is an accountancy practice supervised for anti-money laundering purposes, whose principal is a member of the Association of Accounting Technicians. They have entered into a partnership with Taxbax and taken over the administration of our HMRC tax refund claims work.

To let them pick your claim up, Taxbax needs to pass them the information we hold about you: your name, contact details, date of birth, National Insurance number, employment and income details, and your claim history. This is done under a written data sharing agreement, on the basis of our legitimate interests in transferring the business (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

This is the written notice your terms require. The Taxbax terms of service you signed say: “We can transfer our contract with you, so that a different organisation is responsible for supplying our services. We'll tell you in writing if this happens and we'll ensure that the transfer won't affect your rights under the contract.” This notice is us telling you.
You have a right to object. Under Article 21 of the UK GDPR you can object to this transfer at any time. If you object before signing their engagement letter, TR Forensic Accountants will not process your data further and will delete anything they have received.

What TR Forensic Accountants will charge

If you go on to sign their letter of engagement, their fee is 30% plus VAT of any refund recovered, or £65, whichever is greater — charged only on a successful claim. That replaces any rate you agreed with Taxbax; you will not be charged twice. Their full terms are set out in the engagement letter they will send you, and you should read it before signing anything.

Objecting does not affect anything else

If you are not sure

You do not have to decide today. If you would like to talk it through first, email hello@taxbax.co.uk or call 0161 541 2143 before the date above. Do not send bank details or passwords by email — we will never ask for them.

Object to the transfer

Fill this in only if you do not want your details passed to TR Forensic Accountants. Use the same details Taxbax holds for you so we can find your file.

Your objection is recorded

We will not pass your details to TR Forensic Accountants, and we will confirm this by email within 5 working days. You do not need to do anything else.
